Hi, my name is mika ,After severe flooding chantel floods displaced me, I had to relocate to Henderson, NC because rent was affordable. Unfortunately, there were no job opportunities, so I made the difficult decision to return to Durham to rebuild and find steady work. I’m currently enrolled at Durham Tech working toward my associate degree. While I receive financial aid, it doesn’t fully cover housing or daily living expenses. Right now I’m staying short-term at an Airbnb while actively applying for jobs and trying to stabilize my situation. Any support—such as food assistance,(still waiting on ebt or gift cards—would help me get through this transition while I get back on my feet.
