I’ve always believed in planting seeds for a future I might never see. I’m Soizic, a single mother who has dedicated her life to learning and teaching. With a degree in plant biology from the University of California, Davis - I spent over two decades building edible gardens, tutoring students in French, science and mathematics and more recently launched an online French school. My hope has been to create educational resources that could one day support my daughter, not just financially but by passing on a love of curiosity and creativity. Life has taught me resilience. A wildfire in 2015 took my home and all of my belongings as well as the art I had been working on for years; and when my partner left me with a small child, I had to rebuild again. Each time, I focused on creating stability and opportunity for my little girl. She sees me work hard, start over and try again. I want her to grow up knowing that even when doors close, other paths can open if you’re willing to look for them . Now I find myself in a place I never expected. I’ve been diagnosed with B‑cell lymphoma, a blood cancer without a cure - that can be treated but often requires long‑term monitoring and care. The fatigue and pain mean I can’t take on extra work, yet I’m painfully aware of my need to secure my daughter’s future and keep our small family afloat. Asking for help doesn’t come easily—I’ve always tried to handle challenges on my own. But I’ve learned that vulnerability can be a strength . Any donation you make will help cover transportation, uncovered medical bills, healthy nutrition, comfort, and day‑to‑day expenses so I can focus on treatment without sacrificing my daughter’s education and maximize the quality time spent with her before I am gone. More than that, your support will help me continue building the educational projects I’ve started and give me peace of mind that my daughter will have a cushion if I’m not able to be there for her. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for reading our story and for considering a contribution to our future.
