On May 24th Javier, Makayla's partner, her other half, father of her baby, was involved in an accident and suffered four major brain injuries. At this time, doctors are unable to tell us when he will fully recover. His journey ahead may take months or even years, and there are still many unknowns. Javier is a loving father to his son(15 promoted just after the accident) and his baby girl(not even 2 months old yet at the time) He was also the bread winner for his immediate family. Javier's son is a student athlete that just promoted, high school season will be approaching and with that there will be needs. His mom and Makayla are working to get to meet his needs but there may be gaps that need help. Additionally, Makayla and him have a new baby Alaya, that will still need ongoing support during her growth and development while Javier is unable to provide that additional support. I believe as a community we can come together to support both of these kids so that they will not have to have any other drastic changes to their lives, while their dad is recovering. Also, recently Javier was recently transferred to a hospital in Woodland Hills. Makayla and his family are making the trips daily to go be with him and ensure he is receiving the care that he needs. If you have been in a similar situation you know the expenses that can occur; gas, meals, childcare and more. While, the family is also still raising funds for Javier and his medical care, this would be a separate fund just for travel expenses and the kiddos. I've always seen Makayla as a second daughter and now Javier as an additional son, that makes their kids collectively my grandbabies through love. It is also with a whole heart, that I ask not only their community, but also my mine as well, to rally around these kiddos and their family in their time of need.
