The Le Family Meal Train

Fairfax, VA

Story

A note from Linnette (Jayce's Mom): At three weeks old, Jayce was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) - an aggressive blood cancer that was taking over his little body. The leukemia was impacting multiple organs including his lungs, making it difficult for him to breathe. After a week in the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) on a ventilator, Jayce was transferred to the oncology unit where he has been receiving chemotherapy treatment for the AML. Today, three months later, Jayce is almost four months old and has completed two out of six planned rounds of chemotherapy. Each round involves at least a month in the hospital, then we get to go home for a few days for Jayce to strengthen up, then hospital again for another month. As I write this Jayce is home and we are enjoying Sunday together as a family. Tomorrow we go back to the hospital for round three. Jayce has spent most of his life so far in the hospital, but the fact that he is alive today is a serious blessing and a product of so many things that we cannot control. We are thankful for the PRAYERS so many of you are sending up daily for him. They are getting him and us through this. We are so fortunate to have found the cancer when we did, for the medical care and technology, and all of the other things that have fallen into place so that Jayce is still here now and has a fighting chance.
