Jay’s Post Surgery Recovery Crew

Baltimore, MD

Story

What Started As A Regular Night Of Sleep Turned Into An Unexpected ER Visit. In The Middle Of The Night, I Dislocated My Shoulder And Ended Up In The Hospital In Severe Pain. After Imaging And Evaluation, I Learned The Injury Is More Serious Than I Hoped. I Have A Rotator Cuff Tear Along With A Hill-Sachs Lesion, And Surgery Is Required To Properly Repair The Damage. Recovery Will Be A Marathon, Not A Sprint. I’ll Be In A Sling For Six Weeks With No Use Of My Arm (I CANT DRIVE), Followed By Months Of Physical Therapy. Full Recovery Is Expected To Take Around Six Months. I’m Under Strict Instructions Not To Lift Anything Heavy Now Or After Surgery. An Added Challenge Is That I Live On The Third Floor. I Won’t Be Able To Take Trash Out, Carry Groceries Or Supplies Upstairs, Or Manage Heavier Household Tasks On My Own During This Time. I’ll Need Help With Meals, Transportation, Errands, Trash Removal, Carrying Items Upstairs, Light Household Chores, And General Support While I Heal. If You’re Able To Sign Up For A Meal Or Lend A Hand In Any Way, I’m Grateful For The Support As I Focus On Recovery.
