Story

I have created this page to reach out and humbly ask for financial help. Admittedly, many of the decisions I have made in the past were not the best ones, and I have delt with the repercussions. I've experienced legal trouble, homelessness, abusive (and almost deadly) relationships, and many other hardships. It took me a long time to accept responsibility for my part in these situations. Once that happened, I finally decided that I will LIVE my life instead of just survive it. Since I made that choice I have regained custody of my son, formed more meaningful relationships with my family members, and got sober. I have also received my High School Diploma and enrolled in college. I am actively pursuing my degree and even made it to the honors program. As positive as these things may be, I am still picking up pieces. My license is currently suspended, and in order to reinstate it I have to obtain an SR22 (which has proven to be a lot more than I anticipated). I am a full time student and my funds are very limited, because I can't gain employment until I am able to reinstate my privileges. Bills are piling up quicker than I can open them, groceries keep getting more and more expensive, and I have applied for assistance and was only approved for medical insurance (thank God I have that, at least). My grades are beginning to suffer because of my declining attendance, as it is proving harder every day to find transportation for school. Besides catching up on a couple of household bills, it would help tremendously if I could raise the money to get my license back so that I don't slip too far behind with school and lose my financial aid, and so that I can actively look for employment without worrying about how I will get to and from work every day. I am 38 years old, and I know I can make something of myself, and create a better life for myself and my son. I understand it will take a lot of work and dedication, which I am fully prepared for. I just need some help getting back on track. Thank you so much for reading, and have a blessed day!
