Brad’s Recovery Meal Train ❤️ Brad will have open heart surgery on Thursday, March 19, 2026. After his surgery, he will spend several days in the hospital, the first few in Cardiac Intensive Care. Visitors are not allowed immediately after his procedure. After 4 or 5 days in the hospital, Brad will begin a long recovery at home. During the first month, Brad must rest and heal. He cannot drive, he cannot lift more than 5 pounds, he cannot stretch his arms outward, or put pressure on his chest. Even coughing requires him to hold a pillow to his chest for support. As you can imagine, everyday tasks can be challenging during this time. To help make the first weeks at home a little easier, we are organizing a meal train for dinner four nights each week. Of course, your support, prayers, and kindness mean the world to Brad and our family as he begins this healing journey. Thank you for helping us take care of him!
Meal requests: Dinner for two people...meat-and-potatoes style meals are always a hit. We request no seafood and no coconut and Heart-healthy / lower salt is appreciated. Please deliver meals in disposable containers. Health Request Because Brad will be recovering from major surgery and needs to avoid illness, please do not visit if you are feeling sick or have recently been ill. Drop off instructions: Because recovery from open heart surgery requires a lot of rest, quick drop-offs are best right now. A short hello is always welcome, but Brad will need to keep visits brief so he can focus on healing.
