Judge John S. Carlin passed away just after 5:00 p.m. on March 5, 2026. He was more than a judge—he was a devoted family man who led his life with unwavering values and integrity. John served on countless boards throughout his sons’ childhoods and was deeply involved in their lives, always showing up as a father, husband, and community leader. His legacy of service, character, and love for his family will not be forgotten. Judge Carlin served the people of Southwest Florida for over 35 years, first as a Lee County Judge and later as a Circuit Court Judge. Throughout his years on the bench, he earned the respect of colleagues and members of the legal community for his commitment to the judicial process and his service to the community. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife, Superintendent Denise Carlin, and their family.
