Gina went into the hospital in Huntley on Monday, March 4th after feeling contractions through the night. Since baby at the time was only 28 weeks and she was already dilated to 4cm and 100% effaced, they transferred them to Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Dylan was by her side every moment. On Tues I was visiting and as I was about to leave she felt leakage and they tested fluid and positive for amniotic fluid which she continued to leak for days. She’s was on several antibiotics to prevent infection as well as steroids for baby to help with lungs, brain and gut. Thursday Dylan and I went back to work since things seemed to be going okay until that late afternoon Gina was anxious and didn’t feel right. I drove up after work to be with her so Dylan could finish work. After a couple of hours of talking with nurses and Gina knowing something wasn’t right, I called Dylan to come to hospital. Dr came in to do ultrasound and Jalen was breech at this point and she was dilated more so they said they had to take her in for emergency c-section. Dylan got to hospital at midnight and was rushed into surgery to be by Gina’s side while I anxiously waited in waiting room. At 12:44am, March 8th this beautiful 2.72lb and 15.35in baby was born into this world! He’s absolutely perfect! He’s already showing how strong he is. Both mommy and daddy were able to do skin to skin time with him in day 2 and 3. He is fed via tube every 3 hours and only requires humidified air. Dylan is returning to work this week and Gina will be staying at the Ronald McDonald House across the street and Dylan will join her on his days off. They have 24/7 access to see Jalen and other visitors are from 8-8 so please check with them before visiting. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. The goal for now is to have him home by Mothers Day but obviously we don’t want him discharged too soon! ❤️🙏
