Jen Mason Recovery Care

Alpharetta, GA

Story

JULY 13, 2025 Thank you so much for wanting to help support Jen in her long road to recovery. In the name of Mutual Aid Liberation, this is how we come together to support our tribe. Jen Mason suffered a near-fatal stroke on July 13th. Her son, Max, was able to come in and support her over the next two weeks, providing safety and care for the pups, taking care of household tasks, and lending a hand to help his mama. Her friends, chosen family, circled to support her fight while she remains in the hospital. She will be released to in-home care this coming weekend. This means she will need us more now than ever. We asked for financial support to help keep Jen focused on her health priorities, and this continues, but we also need to show up in different ways. She will need physical support, along with emotional support and financial support. This looks like picking a day+ during the next 6 months to help Jen make it. This sign-up starts now. The three additional areas of support will be 1) Pet care, 2) House support 3) Food needs. The details can be found under the Special Notes section below. She knows we are all going through some heavy times right now and hopes that through the community, not one person is left with a heavier load than others. Please review your calendars, consult with your partners, children, and others, and identify an area of support that you can take on. If we all put a hand in, we will see Jen recover to the best of her abilities. We are grateful for the encouragement we have seen thus far for Jen and know that you all mean so much in her recovery.

Special Notes

*UPDATED 09.30.25* PET CARE: Jen has been feeding, medicating, and getting the dogs outside for potty breaks. She has even been able to access the fence line to use the pooper scooper to clean up the yard now and again, but that task is advanced. Regular help with yard maintenance is still needed. The boys are due for their monthly glamour appointment, so if you're comfortable with grooming the dogs (bathing, nail dremeling), please book a time go come clean the kids up! Alternatively, we would welcome donations towards mobile grooming with MADDIE'S MOBILE MAKEOVERS LLC! (https://www.maddiesmobile.com) FOOD NEEDS: Jen has very much enjoyed all of the meals, snacks, and treats that have been delivered. We thank you so much! If you are able to provide a meal, please focus on vegetarian and pescatarian fare (no beef, chicken, or pork, please). Salads with protein, soups, quiches, and smoothies are excellent choices during this time of recovery. If you would prefer to order out, favorite cuisines include sushi, Mexican, Thai, and Indian. ***Note: There is PLENTY of pasta in the freezer, so we ask that no more is delivered until further notice. HOUSE HELP: Jen has regained some of her strength and coordination, so she has been able to handle some household tasks - isn't that awesome? It wears her out, and she can't do it all, so if you can come visit and help out, we would appreciate it! Tasks at a hand include tidying the kitchen, laundry, bed changes, mopping, and bathroom cleaning. There are other special and/or one time tasks that Jen needs a hand with, and they will be posted in daily updates. YARD SUPPORT: Jen‘s favorite spot is on her patio, but it does require frequent tidying. This would include sweeping off the patio, watering plants, and tending to the bird feeders and birdbath. RIDES / COMPANY FOR DOCTOR VISITS: She was not counting on so many doctor visits, but here we are! We will be posting days on which doctors visits are scheduled. If you are able to pick Jen up, take her to doctor visits, and sit in to be an extra set of ears to listen to instructions or outcomes, it would be most appreciated. While she is mobile enough in her wheelchair in and around her apartment, navigating a new building or a hospital is a lot to ask of her at this time. Maybe you could push her around (insert your jokes here!)? Please sign up if you’re able to help. FINANCIAL SUPPORT: There are multiple paths to show financial support. Ask for details on how you can donate using Venmo, Zelle, or PayPal. Otherwise, her GoFundMe page link is https://gofund.me/846d43e6
