Story

Welcome to Sue Boddy’s Breast Cancer Treatment Journey 💗 Robin, Tyler, and I (Dana) created this page intended to be an hub of information, support and love as our Mom begins her breast cancer treatment. As many of you know our Mom, Sue, survived breast cancer 30 years ago! Her treatment was primarily surgical—a mastectomy. She had been cancer free up until a recent diagnosis of invasive lobular carcinoma in her remanning breast. This time the treatment regimen is much more aggressive and will include, chemotherapy, a second mastectomy, followed by radiation. Expected to take around 8 months, if all goes according to plan. This last Tuesday she underwent surgery to get her chemo port placed— and the poison ☠️ I mean chemo treatment (which is also miraculously life-saving, and also will likely make her loose her hair) gets started this next week! It’s all moving quite fast. We hope this page can be a place to share updates, ask for support, and gather all the love, encouragement, and well wishes you can possibly send to our Mom. Over the years, our family has been lucky enough to experience the kind of love and support that stays with you. So many people have shown up for us, whether it was 30 years ago or just last week, and we’ve never forgotten it. As our Mom begins this next chapter, we’re reaching out to our people again, knowing how much it means to have others beside you when life gets hard. We know we can’t do it all alone, and we’re so grateful to be surrounded by people who remind us of that. More than anything, we want our Mom to feel just how loved she is and to know she has a whole community standing beside her through this journey. So let’s rally around her, lift her up, and send her all the love, hope, encouragement, and strength we can. Thank you for being in our corner, for caring about our Mom, and for helping us show up for her in the ways that matter most. It means more than you know. 💕

Special Notes

As of now, we don’t know exactly what type of food or support she might need or want- as every person tends to tolerate chemo differently. We can keep everyone posted.
