Nourishing Love for Janis

Ann Arbor, MI

W
Story

STORY Hello Friends of Janis, As you probably know, Janis will be having right knee replacement on Tuesday, December 5 at St Joe Hospital. They will keep her at least overnight. She hopes to go to an extended care facility (physical rehab) for 3 to 5 days. Medical staff will make that decision a day or 2 after surgery. When she goes home, she will restrict herself to the main floor. John will be around and will see to her especially in the late evening and during the night. She may need some errands done, like picking up or dropping off library books, etc. I will put those in the calendar if need be. Janis has a few meals already in the freezer, and will need more delivered for a week or two, probably beginning around December 12, possibly before that. I will add more dates as soon as I know them. You can choose some dates to deliver a hot meal or one that is ready to heat up.

Special Notes

Janis is a healthy eater, and has few food restrictions. A full serving of bread or other gluten-laden food is too much, but a little flour as an ingredient is fine. The same for any kind of beans. She loves anything made with corn and most vegetables, meats and fish. One good meal delivered per day will work for Janis. She will probably be hungry in the mid to late afternoon. Since Janis likes leftovers, those will be her evening meal. Please mark your containers with your name. The containers will be washed and placed in a box on her front porch for you to retrieve. Eventually Janis will want visitors. Please phone her first. If she isn't up for a visit, she won't answer, but you can leave a message.
