💛 Our Journey Continues: A Call for Support 💛 Hello friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers, We come to you today with open hearts, continuing a journey that has tested our strength in every possible way. Our story is one of resilience, love, and the constant will to keep going—no matter how heavy the burden becomes. Right now, we’re in the thick of an ongoing battle. I am personally fighting stage 4 metastatic cervical cancer, while my mom has been left bedbound and homebound after a severe stroke in 2022. On top of that, she lives with progressive Multiple Sclerosis and several other serious health conditions that require round-the-clock care. I am not a nurse or trained healthcare professional, and managing my mom’s expressive aphasia and other cognitive deficits is incredibly challenging—many people would find it nearly impossible to care for her needs properly. The physical demands of lifting, repositioning, and assisting her with daily activities are exhausting, and the mental and emotional toll of constantly advocating for her, managing her complex symptoms, and coping with the uncertainty of her condition can be overwhelming. It takes constant patience, vigilance, and a deep, selfless commitment to ensure she can live as happily and safely as possible, surrounded by people who love her and have her best interests at heart. Despite the immense challenges, we continue this care with all our hearts, because she deserves nothing less. Between her 24/7 needs and my treatments, life has become a constant struggle to secure even the most basic resources. We are often left scraping for help where none exists and forced to advocate tirelessly just to get essential care. For example, simply arranging transportation for my mom’s outpatient appointments can cost nearly $500 each trip—a staggering expense we can’t sustain on our own. What we’re facing isn’t just emotional or physical—it’s deeply financial. The cost of living has skyrocketed, and with a fixed income that barely covers the basics, there is no cushion. No room for emergencies. No margin for unexpected needs. We’re stretched thinner than ever. The support we receive means so much more than just helping us keep food on the table or pay bills. It gives us the gift of focus—allowing us to concentrate on healing, resting, and fighting this battle with everything we have, instead of constantly worrying about how we’ll manage day-to-day survival. Even more powerful than the financial help is the outpouring of love and encouragement from our community.
