Hi there. My name is Danielle and I’ve started this page to help out our bonus mama Irene. She and her husband Mike have really had a tough go at it since the summer of 2024. Irene’s husband was injured at work and ended up not having one but TWO surgeries and is no longer able to do what he loved to do or work. I started a GiveinKind page for him back in 2024 and friends, family, and our community rallied to help them through his tough time. Now unfortunately Irene has been diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma. This type of cancer isn’t supposed to spread but it has. It started at the base of her nose on the right side and is now up to her right brow and under her right eye. They will take a layer of skin test it and repeat the process over and over till they reach skin that has no cancer cells. This is her 5th battle with cancer. She previously had endometrial cancer, colorectal and acute blood immune leukemia twice and now this. Since her husband was hurt and is on workers comp she’s been the one that pays the bills and gets the food as his check pays their mortgage. The surgery is March 16th and unfortunately she was only able to take off 3 days of work which will be unpaid. She may need more time off but she’s trying to take as little as possible. This is obviously a scary surgery as there are so many unknowns. She will only have use of one eye for a few days and will be unable to lift anything. Like I said the Crows have truly had a rough few years and they are the amazing type of people that would do anything for anyone.
