Help Our Family Move to a Safe Home and Start Over Hi everyone. We’re a small family trying to find a way forward. My wife and I are raising our 4-year-old son, and right now we’re living in a one-bedroom apartment with my dad. Because of our situation, our son and we spend most of our time confined to one room. The environment has become extremely difficult for our family, and we don’t feel that it is a healthy or stable place for our son to grow up. We’re both working, but we’re working with very limited income. My wife works part-time, and I work part-time caring for my dad while also doing mobile mechanic work and gig jobs whenever I can. We rotate taking care of our son around our work schedules because paying for regular childcare isn’t something we can currently afford. Between rent, food, transportation, and everyday expenses in California, we’re barely able to get ahead and have very little opportunity to save enough to make a move on our own. There is another important part of our situation. My wife has Alport syndrome, and we know that her health may require dialysis and a kidney transplant in the future. Because of that, finding a place where we can build stable housing and have access to appropriate medical care is especially important to our family. We are researching Las Vegas as a possible place to start over because it may give us a more affordable path forward while keeping us close enough to California if we need to return. We’re not looking to have someone pay for our lives. We’re asking for help getting over the biggest obstacle in front of us: getting out of our current living situation and into a safe, stable home. Our goal is to raise $7,500 to help cover the initial costs of moving, transportation, a security deposit, first month’s rent, utilities, temporary lodging if needed, food and necessities during the transition, and a small emergency cushion while we get established. Once we’re there, we’ll continue working. My wife will continue looking for work, I’ll continue doing mechanic and gig work, and we’ll do everything we can to become financially stable on our own. Our biggest reason for doing this is our son. He’s only four years old, and we want him to have a home where he can play, sleep peacefully, feel safe, and simply be a kid. We’re not asking for a handout. We’re asking for a chance. If you can donate, even a small amount would help us move closer to getting our family somewhere safe. If you can’t donate, sharing this fundraiser may be just as valuable. One share could reach someone who is able to help. Thank you for taking the time to read our story, support our family, or simply send us some encouragement. We truly appreciate it.
