Jessica’s Village: Supporting Luke 💛

Grapevine, TX

W
Story

About a year ago, in the quiet aftermath of a storm she never deserved, Jessica began rebuilding her world. She had her babies, her resilience, and a heart that, despite everything, still believed in goodness. And then, Luke walked in. Not loudly. Not with grand gestures. But with a steady, gentle kind of love. He stepped into their lives and, somehow, fit perfectly. Like he had always been meant to be there. He showed up in the smallest, most meaningful ways. For the early mornings and the long nights. For piggyback rides and bedtime routines. For the chaos, the laughter, the tears, and everything in between. He didn’t just love Jessica… he saw her. He reminded her of her worth. He helped bring her sparkle back to life, piece by piece, with patience, kindness, and unwavering care. He became not just a partner, but a true teammate in this beautiful, messy, love-filled life they were building together. And now, just as their world was blooming into something so full of joy, they are facing something no one ever expects. Luke, who already fought cancer once in his early twenties with incredible strength, has just received devastating news. What began as what seemed like simple respiratory symptoms has turned into a diagnosis of tumors throughout his chest and neck. He has begun an intensive nine-week chemotherapy treatment. Doctors are hopeful. They believe this treatment can be incredibly effective. But hope does not erase the weight of uncertainty, the exhaustion, or the fear that comes with a fight like this. Jessica, my twin sister, is the greatest love of my life. She is the most selfless, giving person I know. She pours her heart into her students as a special education teacher, and into her children as the most devoted mother. And now, once again, she is being asked to carry so much. But this time… she doesn’t stand alone. She has Luke. And now, they have all of us. This is a moment to surround them. To lift them. To take even the smallest piece of the weight off their shoulders. Whether it’s a meal, a message, a prayer, or simply showing up in whatever way you can… it all matters. Because if there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s this: Luke is a fighter. Jessica is a force of love. And together, they are something truly extraordinary. Let’s wrap them in that same love now.
