Recently, our Doherty world shifted when Andrew was recently diagnosed with AML or Acute Myeloid Leukemia. It’s not a road we ever expected to be on, but here we are—taking it one step, one day, and one positive thought at a time. With his treatment start date still TBD, he’ll be undergoing chemotherapy for about 4 weeks straight, at The James Cancer Hospital at The Ohio State University—one of the very best places we could ask him to be. We are incredibly grateful for his care team, already walking alongside us with skill, compassion, and confidence. If you know Andrew, you know he’s a stubborn Irishman through and through. While he loves his Irish Whiskey (and may argue it’s medicinal 😉), what he loves most—without question—is his family. He is fighting this with every ounce of strength he has for me, and for our two beautiful daughters, Kayleigh and Kelsey, who are his absolute world. We started this page so we can share updates in one place—good days, hard days, and everything in between—without repeating the same story and text messages a hundred times. It's also a place where we can welcome your encouragement, prayers, and positivity, which we feel so deeply from all of you already. We believe in a little Irish luck… and a whole lot of Irish fight. And if determination, grit, persistence, love, and an unshakable Irish Spirit count for anything, then this cancer picked the wrong Irishman. Thank you for loving us, supporting us, and standing with our family as we walk this journey together. We’re so grateful you’re here and look forward to doing a celebratory whiskey shot soon. Slainte to you all… Cheers! 💚☘️
