Courtney Olson's Warriors

Kansas City, MO

Story

March of 2020, Courtney Olson and her family received the devastating news that she has Nodular Sclerosing Classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma Early Stage II with unfavorable risks. They have SO MANY people who want to know "How can I help?" or "Let me know if there is anything I can do!". It's been amazing! Your help is needed and appreciated along with your prayers, especially as treatments take a toll on Courtney and the household's finances (not to mention how medical bills will burden their family). Here we will give updates on her treatments and ways to help! Some examples of upcoming needs include food, childcare/playdates, cleaning,  lawn care, regularly needed household items, utilities, gasoline cards,  company or rides for appointments and treatments, and fun things for the kids to do to make great memories during a hard time.

Special Notes

The family does have a few restrictions. For household products, the Olson family avoids a lot of different chemical ingredients to keep a healthy environment for healing as quickly as possible. Refer to the amazon wishlist or gift cards to help out the most in this department. For food, the kids avoid gluten, corn, and dyes. Most of the sugar the kids eat is from honey, maple syrup, or coconut sugar rather than regular cane sugar and they don't eat a lot of it. Courtney is on a stricter diet that is 100% organic and free of all grains, dairy products, and sugar (she can have liquid stevia and some monk fruit). If that is a lot to keep track of, things that always help with food needs are PayPal donations, Costco, Wholefoods, and Sprouts gift cards. While gift boxes are an option on this site, there is a concern about ingredients they may include. For childcare, of course, it's preferred that the boys hang out with people they are already comfortable with and know. Thanks for understanding.
