Dearest friends, family, and kind hearts, It feels surreal to be writing this again, almost exactly two years after my initial breast cancer diagnosis in May 2023. As many of you know, that journey began with an invasive lobular carcinoma, Stage 3, leading to a total mastectomy, 8 rounds of chemotherapy, and 35 rounds of radiation. Even though I often looked and acted "fine" on the surface, the reality was that I was never truly in remission; those tumor markers just wouldn't budge. Now, almost two years later, a new small mass has been found in my right breast. This means I'll be undergoing another total mastectomy on June 5th, 2025. Last time around, I tried to manage everything on my own, and looking back, I realize how much more challenging that made an already difficult period. This time, with my two children to care for, I'm learning to humbly lean on my community. My biggest wish is to feel less stressed about providing healthy, nourishing meals for us during my recovery. If you're able to contribute to a meal train (or simply send a thoughtful message) it would be an immense gift. It would allow me to focus my energy on healing and being present for my kids, rather than worrying about 3 meals a day.
