Karen is my best friend, and she’s facing one of the toughest times of her life. Last August, she suffered a stroke that left her with mild cognitive impairment, and doctors have told us this will eventually progress to dementia. While she was undergoing all the necessary testing, they also discovered a mass on her bowel. Now, she’s preparing for surgery to remove the mass and will need a gastroenteric anastomosis.
