Our family is heartbroken after the loss of my grandma — a beautiful, loving woman who meant everything to us. My grandpa has lost his lifelong partner, and his heart is heavy as he learns to live without her by his side. September 26, 2025: Patrick and Debbie traveled to Ukiah to visit her family as they have done many times. What started out as a normal family visit quickly turned into a tragedy. This time Debbie started to feel sick and weak. A visit to the emergency room resulted in what they thought was pneumonia. However, even after starting antibiotics, Debbie began to decline. Patrick had to call EMS to come get Debbie where she was admitted to the ICU for acute respiratory failure. After 2 days of supplemental oxygen by BiPAP and high flow cannula, her oxygen was not improving and she was declining worse. Doctors attempted a bronchoscopy where they diagnosed her with severe lung damage and gave her a 50/50 chance of survival. After being on a ventilator for 4 days, Debbie finally was able to come off and back on high flow cannula/BiPAP; unfortunately, it was not enough to recover her to a normal. Debbie became weak, very tired and made the hard decision to transition to comfort care. After 2 days of suffering, on October 10, 2025 she passed peacefully and now rests in Heaven. We’re reaching out to ask for love, prayers, and any support you can offer as he navigates this difficult time. Whether it’s a kind message, a visit, a shared memory, or a small contribution to help ease the days ahead — every gesture means the world. Let’s surround him with the same love and care that he and Grandma always gave so freely. Thank you.
