I never imagined I would need to ask strangers for financial help. I have a master’s degree, work full-time, and have spent years doing everything I could to manage my finances on my own. Now, I have exhausted nearly every resource available and am facing an immediate crisis. I am asking for help raising $5,000 to protect my housing, transportation, health, and family’s well-being. CRISIS This financial hardship has been building for years. I have taken withdrawals and loans from my 401(k), sold my computer, iPad, three guitars, guitar amp, and other belongings, and relied on payday loans to cover basic expenses. I have little left to sell, borrow, or draw from. In September 2025, I was unexpectedly hospitalized with serious medical issues and required four blood transfusions and two iron infusions. Although my health is currently stable, I still need ongoing care and face medical expenses I cannot manage alone. My wages are also being garnished for student loan debt. My credit is severely damaged, I no longer qualify for conventional loans, I am behind on bills, and my car is at risk of repossession. Losing my car could jeopardize my ability to get to work and maintain the income I depend on. I also need to repay $1,950 by August 31 to people who helped me when I had nowhere else to turn. I am trying to support my son, who has a mental illness and is currently incarcerated because of charges related to his fentanyl addiction. He no longer receives SSI while incarcerated, making it difficult to help him access the resources and encouragement he needs for recovery. My dog also has a liver shunt and urgently needs veterinary care. She is my family and constant companion, and I am deeply worried about what could happen if I cannot afford the treatment she needs. HOW THE FUNDS WILL HELP The $5,000 raised would help me: * Repay the people who supported me during this crisis * Prevent my car from being repossessed so I can continue getting to work * Pay for my dog’s veterinary care * Cover urgent medical expenses and essential bills * Help support my son’s recovery while he is incarcerated * Meet basic needs while I work to stabilize my finances This money will not erase all of my debt, but it could prevent this crisis from becoming even more devastating. It would give me the breathing room I urgently need to protect my transportation, health, family, and basic security while I begin rebuilding. Both of my parents have passed away, and I do not have family I can turn to for financial help. I have tried for a very long time to handle this myself, but I have reached a point where I have exhausted every option.
