Hello everyone, I am reaching out to our hospital units to ask for support for one of our teammates during an incredibly difficult time. Captain Logan Vukusich, CVICU nurse on 3 South, recently lost his wife unexpectedly. He is now navigating this loss while caring for his two young children. Many of you may not know Logan personally, but as we all understand, our hospital community extends beyond unit walls. In critical care and across this facility, we rely on one another every day. Looking out for our teammates during moments like this reflects who we are — not only as professionals, but as people — human beings. Logan returns Thursday, March 5. 3 South is organizing a meal train to help ease the burden of daily meals so he can focus on his children and family needs. Our goal is to provide ready-to-eat meals and freezer-friendly options that can sustain him in the weeks ahead. If you or your team would like to contribute, please consider: • Providing a ready-to-eat dinner • Supplying freezer-friendly, kid friendly meals • Sending groceries or meal delivery gift cards • Coordinating a unit contribution If interested in participating, please contact anyone on 3 South or me directly so we can coordinate scheduling and avoid overwhelming the family. Thank you for helping care for one of our own and demonstrating the strength and compassion of this team. Sincerely, Mario Sales, Nurse [email protected] 619-884-9427
