Love for Nora

Denver, CO

Story

As some of you may know, in July Nora had an MRI that showed a lesion on her L5 vertebrae. 9 days later in the midst of trying to figure out what it was, her L5 broke and she could no longer walk. She has lesions on the L1 and T11 vertebrae as well as her hips and femurs. To help alleviate some of the excruciating pain she's been in, Nora had surgery on 8/26 to remove the large mass on her L5. They also fused her L3 to S1 vertebrae. On 8/29 she had another surgery to put rods in to stabilize her right leg and hip so hopefully they don't fracture like her back. We hope she'll be able to move more without as much pain and maybe not need the wheelchair anymore. Doctors suspect this is all from cancer but we won't know for sure until the biopsy done 8/26 is back. Luckily, Dom has been able to be home to care for Nora, Gigi, and Luca. And now Nora will be in the hospital for a week or 2. We're starting this meal train as a long term helper for the family both while Nora is in the hospital and once she's able to come home. If you want to help but not provide a meal, gift cards would also be very much appreciated. King Soopers, Safeway, Costco, Uber, Target,or Doordash would be great options. If there's no sign up available on a date or time that works for you, please let Sara know! Thank you so much for all your help and well wishes, people like you are the most incredible gift during times like this.

Special Notes

The Fanelli family tends to eat meat of all kinds and veggies for dinner. Occasional pasta or rice dishes are okay. They don't eat seafood or spicy foods because of the kids, but love Mexican and Asian foods. Also, meals besides dinner are very helpful, like basic lunches, or breakfast items like quiches, frittatta or other dishes. They eat lots of fruits and veggies!
