Tonya, our wonderful music and choir teacher, is currently at home recovering after a recent medical emergency. Last Friday, she became ill at school and was rushed to the hospital. After a long weekend and multiple tests, she received difficult news: Tonya has been diagnosed with left ventricular diastolic heart failure, coronary artery disease, limited circulation in her legs and feet, an abnormal EKG, and an irregular heartbeat. She is still undergoing additional testing, and it is likely that she will need heart surgery. This challenging time comes as the Hensarlings have also opened their home to care for their five-year-old granddaughter. Tonya has graciously given permission to share her diagnosis and has asked if her EFGA family could help support them through a meal train, ensuring there’s a warm meal for their household.
