Help Megan Battle Thur her Medical Battle

Freehold, NJ

W
Story

I’m Megan, and at 39, I’m facing one of the hardest seasons of my life. After injuring my ankle and then reinjuring it during recovery, I was forced to leave school, and since then my health has become more and more complicated. On New Year’s Day, I ended up in the hospital with blood clots in my lungs. Not long after that, I began having serious complications from my gastric sleeve, and now it needs to be converted to a bypass. I also battle ongoing low blood sugar episodes that have led to hospitalizations, limited what I can eat, and made daily life incredibly difficult. Some days I can get by, and some days I need my wheelchair and around-the-clock care, but I keep doing my best to stay positive through it all. I’m starting this fundraiser because I need help getting through day-to-day life while I focus on my health and recovery. The funds will help with living expenses, medical-related needs, and important support equipment that would make a real difference in my safety and independence. One of my biggest needs is a service dog to help with my walking issues, low blood sugar episodes, anxiety, and panic attacks. I also urgently need a folding ramp to make wheelchair access easier on my hardest days.
