My mom has always been the caregiver for everyone around her. She’s the type of person who would give you the shirt off her back and still worry about whether you were comfortable. A few months ago, she unexpectedly learned she had a growing tumor on her spine. Even as the pain worsened and she began losing sensation in her legs, she refused to get surgery until after my sister’s wedding because she didn’t want to take away from that special moment. Last week, she underwent a very extensive surgery and spent three days in the hospital. She’s so much happier being home now, but her movement is very limited as she heals. Unfortunately James has to go back to work tomorrow which is going to be very difficult for both of them. Even simple tasks — like standing up on her own — are difficult. It would be wonderful over the next few weeks if she could have some help not having to worry about meals as she focuses on learning how to walk again and recovering And if you know my mom, who never stops moving, you know how hard this is for her. She would never ask for help herself, so I’m asking on her behalf. If friends and family would like to contribute a meal during her recovery, it would mean the world to all of us. Thank you in advance for your kindness and support. Please feel free to text me with any questions.
