A week ago, we were told that our baby boy, Isaac Thomas Theodore Martinez (his dads latest name choice), would be here the week of the 18th. That would put us at a 37-week delivery. This recommendation was given to us based on my delivery history with the twins last year, which resulted as an unexpected 911, emergency c-section. I had developed severe preeclampsia + hypertension and was told by my doctor that they'd have to come 5 weeks early if I wanted to ensure they'd be born alive. Thank GOD we made it and thank GOD they were healthier than expected. Now with this baby, so far everything seems to be going great (same as it was up to 4 days before the twins were born). No high blood pressure, controlled blood sugars; I haven't even gained more than 15 pounds this whole pregnancy. Therefore, in an effort to avoid high risks toward the end of the pregnancy, they wanted to schedule me for a c-section sooner than anticipated. However, seeing the specialist this week, he disagreed with that recommendation and has let us know that we should plan for Isaac to get here the first week of December. We are asking for two things through this post: 1) PRAY. Pray that he stays healthy, pray that I stay healthy. Pray that I remember that God has not given me a spirit of fear, but a spirit of power, love, and self-control. Pray that Ben be surrounded by love and support through the whole ordeal. Pray that our babies will be loved and cared for while we are in the hospital for the delivery of their little brother. Pray that all goes well and this be another testimony to the goodness of our God. 2) Please send us food. LOL! We are not picky; we would be grateful with ANYTHING. Please know that we are a family of 5 and eat like we're a family of 8. Ideally, something that can be good cold, too. If the post-delivery is anything like last time, we will have lost sense of time and will only be able to eat when we are able to eat. We're excited to continue to update you all through this website (I'd never heard of it before but found it through someone we supported here). If you got a link to this page, know that we love you and cherish your relationship to our family. Don't feel obligated to financially support us, your prayers are more than enough. But if you feel moved to help feed us, we will gladly accept a few meals throughout the next 6 weeks. We love you all, we pray for you all, we are excited for you to meet the next addition to the Martinez family. God bless you.
We aren't picky! Get us family platters from anywhere. Although Mama and Dada loveeee spicy food, please always choose the classic flavors for platters, as the babies don't share our love of all things spicy yet lol. We are good with fast food, restaurant food, and groceries are always welcomed! Please no McDonalds. Pizza is always a yes (pepperoni).
