Dear Family and Friends, We want to share some difficult news about our friend Chas Konopka. Chas recently suffered a stroke and is currently receiving medical care at Enloe Medical Center. He is stable, and his care team is closely monitoring his condition. As the family moves forward, we’ll continue to share updates here as we’re able, and we thank you in advance for respecting the family’s privacy during this time. This has been an incredibly emotional and uncertain time for the family, but your love, support, and kindness have been deeply felt and appreciated. Many have asked how they can help. We are working on setting up meal coverage and other ways to support the family during this time and will share those details here soon. Please continue to keep Chas in your thoughts and prayers. The family is so grateful for the community surrounding them, your care brings them strength and comfort in the days ahead. While the family would love to connect with each of you personally, the priority right now is being fully present with Chas and his medical team as he continues his recovery. We hope to share updates as much as possible, so you can stay informed and connected without needing to contact the family. Thank you for your understanding, patience, and continued care. If you have any specific questions, we kindly ask that you reach out to us: Amie Parent, Che Nelms, or Erica Sheridan, who will be helping the Konopka family during this time. Our contact information is: Amie: (530) 570-9988 Che: (530) 864-3029 Erica: (530) 520-6182
At this time, the Konopka family kindly asks for no visitors, as rest is essential to Chas’s healing during these early stages of recovery. They know how much he is loved, and they look forward to the day when visits will be welcomed. We’ll be sure to share an update here as soon as that becomes possible. Thank you so much for your understanding and support. If you’d like to share a note or letter of encouragement for Chas or the family, you’re welcome to drop it off at the front office of Chico High. Your kind words and support mean so much during this time.
