Imagine a gentle giant with a heart of gold, someone whose presence instantly feels like a warm embrace. That is David. David is a selfless empath, always ready to lend a helping hand, and his sense of humor never fails to brighten the day. His infectious laugh will light up any room, and his presence has a way of making the people around him feel comfortable, welcomed, and loved. David enjoys the simple things in life. In his free time, he loves playing video games and taking his mom out to lunch. He’s a foodie at heart, eager to try all kinds of food and recently falling for sushi, yet still loving a good steak! He also enjoys game nights and arcades with family and friends. But perhaps what says the most about David is the way he treats people. In third grade, David befriended a classmate who was learning English as a second language and was being bullied—all without seeking recognition. His teacher shared this heartwarming story during a parent-teacher conference. Even at such a young age, David saw someone who needed a friend and simply chose to be one. That selflessness has continued throughout his life. Though humble about it, his generous spirit shines through in countless acts of kindness. He’s the epitome of loyalty, with everyone considering him family no matter what. David has always been someone who cares deeply about the people around him. He doesn’t seek recognition for the good he does. He simply does it because that’s who he is. Right now, David has goals and a future he is still working toward. He missed an important interview while in the hospital, though details are private for now. We look forward to sharing his updates once he’s fully back on his feet and pursuing his goals. There is also something about David that is difficult to put into words. He is humble yet self-possessed, readily dismissing human opinion. God chose David because He saw that his heart was good. That is the David we know. Our family is asking for support during an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. David was seriously injured and is currently hospitalized, critically ill and incapacitated, requiring life support and ongoing medical care. He has already undergone multiple surgeries and continues to face a long road toward recovery. As his mother, I am focused on being by his side, advocating for his care, and making sure he receives everything he needs during this fight. Right now, our family is taking things one day at a time while navigating the emotional, physical, and financial impact of this unexpected medical crisis. How You Can Help We are primarily seeking in-kind support to help meet the immediate and ongoing needs of our family. 🍽️ Meal & Grocery Support Gift cards for restaurants, grocery stores, meal-delivery services, or other food options would be incredibly helpful. Being at the hospital for extended periods makes preparing meals difficult, and having access to meals allows me to remain focused on my child. 🏥 Medical & Recovery Expenses Although insurance will cover a portion of his medical care, there may be significant expenses that are not fully covered, including medical supplies, equipment, medications, transportation, therapy, and other necessary items. 🏠 In-Home Aftercare When David is eventually able to leave the hospital, his recovery will continue at home. We anticipate additional needs related to medical equipment, supplies, home modifications, caregiving, transportation, therapy, and other expenses associated with his ongoing care. 💳 Gift Cards & Direct Support Gift cards for groceries, gas, pharmacies, restaurants, and household necessities are especially helpful and allow us to address immediate needs as they arise. Most Importantly—Prayers and Encouragement Above all, we ask for your prayers for David—for healing, strength, comfort, and continued progress. Please also keep our family in your prayers as we navigate each day and make difficult decisions on his behalf. If you are able to provide a meal gift card, grocery gift card, gas card, medical-related assistance, or another form of in-kind support, please know that it is deeply appreciated. Every act of kindness, every prayer, every meal, and every word of encouragement means more to our family than we can express. Thank you for standing with us during this difficult season and for helping us care for David as he continues to fight.
