On what should have been a normal Monday afternoon in late January, Bryant suffered a hemorrhagic stroke and was admitted to the Providence Portland Medical Center ICU. His doctors are monitoring him closely and running numerous tests in search of a cause, but he will be looking at a long road to recovery regardless of what they discover - including (at least) several weeks at an in-patient rehab facility once discharged from the hospital, followed by a long and likely challenging journey to rebuild his strength, mobility and spirit. To absolutely no one's surprise, Ashley has been an absolute rockstar in balancing her role as a medical advocate with the emotional ups and downs of their new normal. She has been a constant at Bryant's bedside while remaining as present as possible for Louis (6) and McKenna (2), but even the strongest of us need help sometimes.
