Hello, we are Heather and Mike, married for 5 years and deeply committed to each other. Mike was diagnosed with CHF and kidney disease, and he relies on disability benefits. In the past year his heart function has went down to 5% and doesn't qualify for transplant. While he doesn't let this have a negative impact on his life, Every day brings new challenges as he preserves his strength. I recently lost my job due to taking care of him full time. Since then I have actively been seeking part time work, applying for any job, with the goal of contributing to our household again. Despite sending dozens of resumes every day, and attending interviews we struggle to cover the basics = which include bus passes, work clothing and my diabetic insulin and supplies Since I have no insurance. Right now we are homeless and urgently need help paying for the hotel room so we can remain together and safe. Without a stable address it's almost impossible to secure employment, keep necessary medical appointments or access community resources.
