We are so fortunate to live in this community where friends and neighbors come together during difficult and challenging times. As most of you know by now, Marie and Steve Rapp had a pretty devastating house fire on the evening of November 21, 2025. They are currently living in a short term rental while they make preparations to start rebuilding their home. So many kind people in the community have offered them housing, support in the demolition of the damaged spaces and support in the rebuilding and restoration process. They have to follow pretty strict guidelines for insurance purposes in the rebuilding and restoration, so they can’t accept many of the generous gestures to help that so many community members have offered them. As they will both be working as they rebuild, I thought that a way we can all help out is by providing meals and snacks for them during this time. It is one less thing they have to think about and will make their lives a little easier. Marie and Steve are so well loved in this community and are ALWAYS there for others in tough situations. Though they give over and over they are STUBBORN about being on the receiving end. I had to insist that this was something I was going to arrange for them and I told them I was doing it whether they liked it or not! I know that Marie would be banging down my door and digging in her heals to help if the roles were reversed. Thank you to everyone in advance!! You are truly appreciated.
There will we be a cooler just inside the entrance to the Hammond Office located at 50 Meadow Village Drive where Marie works. It is directly across from the old post office. Please place perishable food in the cooler in DISPOSABLE containers. Any other food can be placed on top. Please drop off any items before 5 pm. Dinner or snack items are welcome.
