Hands & Feet for The Risley Family

Belle Plaine, KS

Story

This precious family experienced the unimaginable. Instead of bringing their sweet Titus home, they will be leaving the hospital with broken hearts and empty arms. “The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.” Psalm 34:18-19 As they begin this incredibly difficult journey of grief, Taylor is also recovering from a C-section while they care for their five children at home. In the midst of overwhelming heartache, there will still be meals to prepare, bills to pay, children to care for, and countless daily responsibilities that don’t stop for grief. One of the most tangible ways we can love them right now is by surrounding them with practical support. If you are able, please consider signing up to provide a meal, sending a restaurant or grocery gift card, taking on some routine chores, having the kids for a play date, or contributing financially to help ease some of the burdens they will face in the days and weeks ahead. Their church has set up a memorial fund for them that can be donated to. This is through the Valley State Bank in Belle Plaine: First Baptist Church Risley Family Memorial fund. This will help cover any expenses related to Titus’ care, memorial service expenses, and other needs. Every act of kindness, no matter how big or small, is a reminder that they are not walking through this alone. “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6‬:‭2‬ ‭ Above all, please continue to pray for this family. Pray that the Lord would draw near to them, strengthen them, and surround them with His peace and comfort in the moments that feel impossible. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus as we come together to love and care for this family during one of the darkest seasons of their lives.
