After a couple of weeks of stomach issues, Kati went in for a CT scan with the findings showing stage 4b ovarian cancer. To say that these results were shocking is an extreme understatement. Gratefully, they have a wonderful friend in the world of OB/GYN Oncology who has walked alongside them and helped get things in place with tests and a treatment plan with Dr Annie Tan at MN Oncology. Kati will begin chemotherapy sometime in early/mid August and depending on how the cancer responds to that treatment will determine when a surgery will take place followed by more chemotherapy. Every case is different and they are holding it loosely as they work with their team to get Kati the best possible treatment available. While it’s an advanced cancer there is hope with all the new treatments. They are grateful for the Dr and team they have and the plan that is currently in place.
