I Have had pancreatic cancer, the hospital refused to do surgery on me because i didn't have insurance. The cost of the surgery was so much they couldn't expect someone to pay the whole bill out of pocket. So if i only got a little bit of donation, certainly $5,300 is not going to get them what i need.
