August 26th was the worst day of my life. I got that phone call that nobody ever wants to get. “You have cancer” To be specific I have triple positive Ductal Carcinoma. And HER2+ I was in complete shock. And all I could think was please god let me survive so I can watch my kids grow up. It also is extremely complicated because I am also currently a surrogate and just entered my third trimester of this pregnancy. So with that being said, my options are very limited until we can safely deliver the baby. Between all of my specialists and I we have decided the best decision for now, is to have a double mastectomy, recover, have the baby and then start Chemo as soon as possible. (I will have to do this for a year) Followed by radiation at the end. I am going to have to take quite a while off of work while I try to balance all of my appointments for cancer, my now high risk pregnancy, surgery recovery and all of the side effects that are to come. It’s a very scary time in my life but I am so beyond grateful for all of my support team. I am creating this to hopefully take some of the stress off of feeding our family. My husband will still have to work as much as possible to cover all of our bills. Anything is sooo appreciated and I promise I will pay it forward one day. Thank you all and bless you!
