Shoulder to Shoulder: Supporting Our Sister DE Jeannie Thomas

Dover, FL

Story

For those of us who have had the privilege of working with DE Jeannie Thomas, we know of her kindness and willingness to always lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement. As she faced the ups and downs in her battle with cancer, she openly shared her story and did so with honesty and vulnerability, inspiring many of us to take action. Jeannie’s every action has been guided by a selfless spirit and a heartfelt concern for the well-being of those around her. For years, Jeannie has faced her battle with cancer with extraordinary fortitude and unwavering strength. Despite every setback and challenge, she met each day with courage, hope, and determination. Now, as her medical journey has reached a point where no cure is possible, Jeannie continues to exemplify the resilience and grace that have defined her life. Even in the face of a terminal diagnosis, she remains a source of inspiration—showing us what it means to live with dignity, selflessness, compassion, and resolve. As Jeannie faces these deeply challenging days ahead, it’s our turn as her fire service family to stand by her and give her the same unwavering support she has always given us. Let’s come together to show Jeannie and Jason that they are not alone and that our fire department family stands strong with them. Join us in supporting Jeannie and Jason by leaving messages on this forum, signing up for meals, or volunteering as needs arise. Your presence and involvement matter greatly in showing Jeannie and Jason they are not alone.
