On December 23rd, Brett and Brittney welcomed their beautiful son, Crew, into the world. Like any family with a newborn, they were settling into life with their baby and his siblings—until everything suddenly changed. On January 9th, baby Crew developed Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome (SSSS), a serious and painful skin condition caused by toxins from Staphylococcus aureus bacteria. The condition causes the skin to blister and peel, much like a severe burn, and requires immediate, specialized care. Due to the severity of his condition, Brittney and Crew were flown to Stanford Children’s Hospital in Palo Alto, where Crew will be treated in the ICU for at least seven days. During this time, Brittney and Brett remain by his side. Crew’s two brothers and sister are currently being looked after by extended family. This GoFundMe is to help Brett and Brittney with medical bills, travel, lodging, and everyday living expenses while they focus entirely on being with their baby during this incredibly difficult and emotional time. No family ever expects to face something like this—especially so soon after welcoming a new child. Any donation, no matter the amount, will help ease the financial burden and allow them to be where they need to be most: with baby Crew. If you’re unable to give, sharing this page means just as much. Thank you for your prayers, kindness, and support for the Miller family during this time. Link to GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/1b8c61b8b
