Our dear friend, Larissa, has recently been diagnosed with Stage IV Inflammatory Breast Cancer with bone metastases. The cancer has spread to her back and femur, and she is currently undergoing aggressive treatment. As you can imagine, she and her family are facing an incredibly difficult time. She is an amazing, strong, and selfless mother of three who has touched so many lives and become a valued part of the Tewksbury community, always showing up for others with kindness, generosity, and love. Now it’s our turn to show up for her. Her three incredible children are truly the heart of her world. Gianluca, a seventh grader, is the brainiac of the family, with a passion for STEM and science and a long list of academic achievements to show for it. Kason, a second grader, is a true athlete who loves flag football and soccer. Kaiya, in first grade, is an all-around girly girl with a constant smile, she loves all sports and just might be a natural cheerleader in the making. Even while facing this diagnosis and the toll of treatment, she continues to show up for her children in the most incredible ways, rarely missing a soccer game, cheer competition or birthday celebration. Despite being mentally and physically exhausted, her love and dedication to her kids never waver. Between treatments, appointments, and the day-to-day responsibilities of caring for her family, you can imagine how exhausting this time is, especially transporting the kids to and from all of their activities. By the end of each day, she is often completely drained, and having one less thing to worry about will make a meaningful difference. To help ease some of that burden and allow her to focus on her health and her family, we are organizing a food train with gift cards. While a home-cooked meal would be incredibly appreciated, Larissa does have significant allergies, including tree nuts, and follows a gluten-free diet. Please be mindful of this if preparing food, or feel free to support through restaurant gift cards so meals can be safely provided. Any contribution, big or small, will make a meaningful difference for her and her children. Thank you for surrounding this wonderful family with love, support, and strength during this time.
