Help Christa Keep Fighting ❤️🙏 My sister Christa has spent her life overcoming incredible challenges. In 1990, a devastating car accident nearly took her life and left her a paraplegic. Despite everything she has faced, she continued forward, built a life, and became a mother to two children who are her greatest blessing and mean everything to her. Now Christa is facing the greatest battle of her life: advanced intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma, a rare and aggressive cancer. Christa is currently hospitalized, and her condition has become increasingly complicated. She has developed ascites requiring fluid drainage, along with significant pressure wounds that have complicated her ability to move forward with cancer treatment. But Christa wants to keep fighting, and our family is right there fighting alongside her. ❤️ Our immediate goal is to get Christa safely from the Coeur d’Alene/Spokane area to MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, where she has an established relationship with her cholangiocarcinoma specialist, Dr. Milind Javle, and where we hope she can be evaluated by the specialized teams she needs. Because of Christa’s paraplegia, pressure wounds, ascites, and current weakness, a long commercial flight would be extremely difficult for her. We are urgently exploring private and charitable flight options that could accommodate her mobility and positioning needs and ideally allow her to recline or lie down during portions of the journey when safely permitted. I am Christa’s sister and caregiver and will travel with her. I know her daily needs, can assist with her transfers and routine care, and will remain by her side throughout the journey.
