Over the past year, our dear friend Katie has faced more than anyone should have to endure. She has been diagnosed with her third cancer in a year. Through it all, Katie has continued to face adversity with an incredible sense of humor, an amazingly positive outlook, and a strength that inspires everyone around her. She is the kind of person who can find something to laugh about even when life gives her every reason not to. She is also a divorced mom of two amazing teenage boys. As any parent of teenagers knows, keeping up with school, activities, appointments, meals, and all the everyday demands of raising two growing boys is a lot under normal circumstances. Now, while undergoing cancer treatment, those everyday responsibilities become an enormous challenge. Her upcoming treatment will include two rounds of chemotherapy with six weeks of continuous radiation, Monday through Friday. The treatment itself will be demanding, and there will be significant rest and recovery needed afterward as her body heals. The goal is to surround Katie and her boys with the kind of support that allows her to focus on what matters most right now: getting through treatment, taking care of herself, and being there for her boys. This page is a way for friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who loves Katie to help lighten some of the everyday load. Whether it's providing a meal, helping with groceries, contributing a gift card, helping with transportation, or simply taking one more thing off her plate, every act of kindness will make a difference. Katie has spent the last year showing us what strength, humor, and optimism look like in the face of adversity. Now it's our turn to surround her with that same love and support. Let's take care of our friend, take care of her boys, and remind her that she doesn't have to do this alone. ❤️ For video updates from Katie follow her on her YouTube channel! https://www.youtube.com/@KCHomesbyKatie
It would be very helpful to have high protein, high fiber foods for Katie. The dinners are also for the boys, and it notated dinner for 6 so they can have leftovers for lunch the next day:) Please selective with calls and texts as she will need a lot of rest to recover.
