Dear friends and family, You may have heard that I "canceled" my 60th birthday party, but I have decided that it is just "postponed" for now, as I focus on my health. I've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and lymphoma. I'm now embarking on a 6-month chemotherapy journey. I have spoken to some of you and have received an overwhelming amount of support. These offers of support have inspired me to create this Give InKind page, making it simple for everyone to coordinate help during this time. Practical assistance would be a huge blessing: rides to and from the hospital, keto-friendly meals that are easy on my system, visits for some encouragement, and company for gentle walks or coffee if I'm up for it. Check the calendar below to sign up for specific dates and times, if you would like support me in that way. Financial contributions will also go a long way toward covering essentials like phone bills, electricity, and internet, as I won't be able to work through treatment. Your support—whether it's time, meals, or donations—will truly lift me up. Thank you in advance for being my village--together, we'll get through this. Updates will be posted here, so check back often. With heartfelt gratitude, Terri
Please note, if you are preparing cooked meals, please ensure they are keto-friendly—low in carbs and higher in protein and healthy fats (for example: meat or fish with non-starchy vegetables; please no bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, or sugary desserts). These kinds of meals help fuel my body to fight the cancer effectively. If keto feels unfamiliar, please don’t worry—simple options like rotisserie chicken with a green salad are perfect. Alternatively, if you'd like to treat me to a ready-made keto-friendly meal, a Factor Meals gift card would be wonderful and really appreciated—here's the link: https://www.factormeals.ca/gift. Also, if you're scheduled to visit but feel sick, please call to cancel right away; I'll be immuno-compromised during my weekly chemotherapy. This all starts in a few weeks, so please bear with me as I adjust to the weekly visits and find my rhythm. Thanks in advance :-)
