Story
While Chrystin and Joshua have been excitedly planning for their son's arrival, he decided to give them a big surprise and thought he was ready to meet them at just a little over 33weeks! Chrystin went into preterm labor October 2nd while working a 13hr shift. She had been feeling crummy and off for a few days prior to work. Chrystins best friend drove her to the ER in Ironwood where she was transferred via ambulance to Aspirus in Wausau where they are a bit more equipped to deal with situations such as this. Aspirus in Ironwood is not equipped to deliver babies under 36 weeks. Chrystin and Joshuas team in Wausau were able to give Chrystin medication(Magnesium) to stop contractions so baby can further develop for as long as possible, also giving her a steriod shot, twice, to help delvelop babies lungs quicker just in case he makes his appearance sooner than 36 weeks. Subsequently, Chrystin will have to remain on bed rest and take it eaay until baby’s arrival. If he comes between now and the 36 week mark, which is October 20th, they will both be in great hands, if he doesn't come before than and the 36 week mark pops up, Chrystin will be sent home where Aspirus Ironwood will than be able to deliver baby if he decides to make his appearance after the 36 week mark. Joshua is planning to visit as often as possible while still working in order to try and afford the cost of living, the trips back and forth, healthy meals, bills, vehicle repairs and other necessary needs. Our hopes in creating this page is to offer these amazing parents-to-be support in a variety of ways, whether that be monetary donations to help with travel costs and lost wages, nourishing meals, playing with and walking Moose while Joshua is with Chrystin in Wausau, or gifting the couple with thoughtful items to let them know they’re on our minds. They had a best friend collaborate with a bunch of other close and amazing friends whom all pitched in for a care package and a gift card for the parents-to-be which really put a smile on both Chrystin and Joshua's faces. Their 4 other children are with their fathers for the time being and are missed dearly by both Chrystin and Joshua. The whole situation has put a lot of stress on the family so any love, support and well wishes will let them ALL know they're extremely loved and on our minds. A baby shower is up in the air at this point and although they'd love to have one, it isn't in the stars right now and isn't a real priority at this time.
