My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time, and she just had surgery—a double mastectomy to help prevent the cancer from returning. Thankfully, the surgery went well, and she’s now home, but the transition has been tough. She currently has four drains, and it’s been a challenging recovery process. Given that this is her second diagnosis in such a short time, the doctors felt this was the best option to ensure her long-term health.
