Supporting Christina

Story

Back in January 2021, Christina was having major chest pain. She was sent to St. Mary's in Grand Junction for emergency diagnosis and treatment. Christina was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis (a rare, autoimmune disease that causes weakness of the skeletal muscles) . Additionally, they located a large, cancerous tumor in her chest that grew from delayed treatment of her Myasthenia Gravis, which was removed immediately. Since then, Christina has had to go to Salt Lake City for a second option for the spread of her Tynoma cancer. The doctors confirmed that she needs to do radiation. This page is to help support her through her radiation treatments. She has to travel to Grand Junction 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Diane (her mother) has taken on a lot during this time and has been doing it mostly alone. I (Hannah) would like to relieve her of some of the duties and stress. I am helping as much as I can, but being a young professional makes it difficult. Christina can be supported by a meal, transportation to and from radiation appointments, or household chores over the next 6 weeks. Please reach out to Hannah if would like to help. We appreciate it!

Special Notes

Christina is on dietary restrictions that eliminates red meats and processed foods from her diet. Her throat is sore from the treatments, so soft food items are better. She enjoys having visitors, but please keep in mind her MG and radiation makes her very tired and she is worn out quickly.  Her radiation appointments are Monday thru Friday at 11 am in GJ.
