I was recently diagnosed with high grade Ductal Carcinoma in Situ. I will be requiring a mastectomy and most likely will opt for a double mastectomy. I am scheduled for surgery at UW Breast Clinic on August 9. I will be very limited in my mobility for about a month as I recover. The prognosis is good, but there is a 20% chance the cancer could be invasive. I will also be having a sentinel lymph node biopsy to make sure the cancer has not spread to my lymph nodes. Our family could really use help during this time with meals. The girls will be going to Montana to be with my parents for about a week after surgery. We would appreciate meals as I am not supposed to do any housework while my drains are in. Thank you for helping out our family during this hard time.
