Story
We are so excited to be sending this announcement to you! Our sweet Christopher Kyle will be here in just a few short weeks. While Kyle and I prepare to become parents we wanted to reach out allowing for our expectations to be known as we all anticipate this sweet baby boys arrival. First, we want to say thank you for being a part of our village that wants to come around us and support us. We know it will take everyone and we already are so appreciative! Communication: If you text, please anticipate a delay in response time from mom and dad. We will be coordinating a “telephone” share of updates especially at the beginning of birth etc. Visitation: The first 15 days post being discharged from the hospital: Kyle, Mae and Christopher will be taking the time as a new family unit to adjust. They kindly ask for no visitors, unless it has been otherwise communicated or requested. The first 6 months of a newborns immune system is critical. If you are feeling just off this can include fever, fatigue, cough, nasal drip, congestion, ate something and your tummy feels weird please 🙏🏼 reschedule your time to come meet him. We would hate for you to drive or fly all the way up the hill to not be able to meet him. If you do show up under the weather, we do have the discretion to politely ask anyone to leave and reschedule. You may or may not be able to hold Christopher. We do not know how his day will be & how momma will be, please be flexible! We will ask for when you’re in our home: - Wash your hands 🙌🏼 - If you haven’t had a recent TDAP vaccine (which protects Christopher against whooping cough) to wear a mask. We are not monitoring your immunization record, however we are asking for the honor system to respect our child’s immune system. - Please do not kiss the baby - Please keep your total visit length to 45mins. - Please text both of us and receive confirmation from one of us that this is still a good allotted time to visit and that you should be on your way, just in case something came up! - When you arrive in our driveway, please do not ring the doorbell as Scout will bark. Please text us and Kyle can come bring you into the house If you’re visiting from out of state/ via airplane: Wow, thank you for loving on our sweet boy and us while making the financial sacrifice to be out here! When you have an idea of your potential travel dates, please reach out to us so we can coordinate and make sure we don’t have too many folks overlapping schedules. Especially if you’re making such intense travels to be here we want to enjoy our time with you! After reviewing the hospital paperwork and medical advice, it has been suggested to not have any out of state visitors until after 6-8 weeks of Christopher’s life, so let’s coordinate! We want you to come and spend time with us. Pictures/ Social Media: Please confirm with Kyle or Mae before taking photos of the baby and making any social media announcements. Final thoughts: While we know this is a lot of information and everything is subject to change. We value you and your patience with us as we navigate being first time parents. We want to set up Christopher for the absolute best, and we appreciate each of your support during this time. We can’t wait to see you, laugh with you and introduce you to Christopher Kyle Fitchhorn!
