Story
From Cody: The most hectic and sleep deprived week of our lives came to a very quick conclusion this morning at 6:44 am. Our little girl decided she was done cooking at 28 weeks and forced her way into the world. After leaving the hospital at 3:30 am I rolled Brigid back in the doors at 5:45. As soon as we got in a room they were prepping her for an emergency C-section but our little girl had other plans and forced her way out, breach, on the operating table before they could get Brigid fully prepped for surgery. Mama was a warrior, got the baby out completely un-medicated and is recovering just fine. Our pretty little Poppy is a hell of a fighter and doing as well as a 28 week premie can do in the NICU. She’ll have a very long road ahead of her and is expected to spend the next couple months in the hospital before she can come home. I cannot thank the NICU staff and OB nurses enough for jumping in and taking care of my girls at shift change before half of them were even clocked in! The road getting here was bumpy as hell, but the best is yet to come! Everyone meet Poppy Wren Cottrell all 2lb 14oz and 15.5 inches of her!
Special Notes
Brigid and Cody will be needing to constantly be commuting between home with their boys and the NICU to visit Poppy. Between gas, meals, and preparing for life ahead anything helps! Some ideas: Gas card Delivery services Gift cards for restaurants close to hospital and home And anything else to help out the Cottrell family 🩷
