Story

This page was created to help our amazing Brittany and her sweet family. Brittany is not only one of the strongest women we know, she is also so very giving when others are in need. And now, let’s be there for her and Battle with Brit 🤍 However you can help would mean so much. Provided below is a list of helpful gift cards, PayPal, Amazon list, and a meal calendar - just a few ways we can provide the Jurgens with love and support. Please contact any of us (Jackie, Jessica or Steph) with any questions you may have regarding this page or how to help out our sister & dear friend.     Brittany’s story in her words: On February 8th I found a bump. I thought to myself, "It's probably nothing." I had a routine appointment scheduled the next day and decided to bring it up, for peace of mind. I was referred to the breast center for a mammogram and an ultrasound just to double check. I waited for what felt like years for that appointment on March 4th, still very much in denial. At that appointment I was told by the radiologist that three spots were found and would need to be biopsied "and then I will have my answer." That comment hit me hard. It was the first time I realized that everything might not be okay. On Wednesday March 10th I got the call, all three spots of concern were positive.  Stage 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, HR +, Her 2+ I will start my fight on April 8th with my first round of Chemotherapy. From there I will have five more treatments, three weeks apart. Following chemotherapy I will have a double mastectomy and reconstruction. Afterwards I will follow up with infusions, totaling a year of treatment. Although invasive sounds scary, they know exactly how to attack it and my oncology team has full confidence in our plan.

Special Notes

Because of the nature of chemo and current pandemic, please be conscious when dropping things off by wearing a mask and disinfecting when possible. Thank you!
